　　故事以杨家的三兄弟为主线展开。虽然这三个人是亲兄弟，从小都在新加坡的中等阶层的家庭成长，但是这三人分别代表新加坡三个不同收入、不同阶级的人物。三兄弟由于为生计奔波，都疏于照顾年迈的母亲。当生活发生变化，他们开始忽略了老妈妈。在生活富裕的时候慷慨和孝顺很容易，但是当家庭收入减少，真正的孝顺需要付出什么样的代价？即使像妈妈应该跟谁住这样最基本的安排都成了争论的话题。

　　Synopsis:

　　The story revolves aroundthree brothers who are representative of the business owners, white and bluecollar workers of Singaporeans. As the winds of fortune changes, the brother’s begin toneglect their elderly mother. It was easy to be generous and filial during thegood times but when household budgets tighten, what is the cost of true filialpiety?  Even the most basicarrangements, including whom mom should stay with, become a contentious issue。
