mayflies was formed in the stavanger, a town on the west coast of norway, late summer of 2002 having their first rehearsal in a barn at oly rider’s sheep farm. after harvesting great reviews after their first gig they soon got the rockers in stavanger talking about the new band.attending bylarm, a norwegian showcase for up and coming bands as a part of the zoom 2004 tour (one month) ,releasing the minialbum circus noir, bylarm 2005 as well as support gigs for thomas dybdahl has been some of the highlights in the mayflies career.
蜉蝣乐队组建于挪威西海岸的一个城镇斯塔万格，2002年夏季末，他们在一个牧场的谷仓里开始了他们第一次排练。随后在秋季进行的他们的第一次演出就使斯塔万格的摇滚乐迷们开始讨论这支乐队，2004年他们参加了bylarm，挪威新生乐队为期一个月的巡演，发行了他们的第一张迷你专辑，并收录于bylarm2005新生乐队集粹辑。
mayflies will start recording of their 2nd album in January 2006. release date in norway is still not set but recording should be complete by the end of january/beginning of february. the mayflies sound on this album will be more modern as the tunes draws influence from more contemporary bands while remaining faithful to the mayflies sound
2006年1月，蜉蝣乐队已开始录制他们的第二张专辑，具体挪威发行日期还没有确定，但是录音工作已于2月底3月初完成，在这张专辑中，受到众多现代乐队的影响，同时又保留他们自身的特色，蜉蝣乐队的音乐更加现代。
