入选条件：

　　Performers：发行首张唱片至少25年以上，并且对摇滚的发展有卓绝的贡献。由摇滚历史学家组成的提名委员会提名，再由1000名左右的摇滚专家进行投票，票选超过50%即入选，每年的入选名单一般控制在5-7名。

　　Non-Performers：对摇滚的发展有重大影响的歌曲作者、制作人、DJ、录音师、新闻记者以及其他业内专业人士。

　　Early Influences：摇滚诞生以前的艺人，但他们的音乐影响了摇滚的进化，而且赋予摇滚领先艺人创作灵感。

　　Side Men：2000年引入的新类别。表彰那些主流艺人的幕后人员。提名由一个主要有制作人组成的委员会作出。
