南京人。小提琴演奏家、教育家。现任四川音乐学院小提琴教授，硕士研究生指导教师，四川省小提琴教育研究会会长，全国少儿小提琴学会常务理事。获国务院颁发特殊贡献奖，享受特殊津贴。1955年和1958年先后毕业于西南音乐专科学校和上海音乐学院管弦系小提琴专业，1963年在四川省小提琴演奏比赛中获第一名。
从教40余年，所教学生多次在国际国内小提琴比赛中获奖，胡坤1980年在第四届西
贝柳斯国际小提琴比赛中获奖，这是我国第一位国际小提琴比赛的获奖者。宁峰1997年在日本第五届高校生国际艺术大赛中获得大奖及小提琴赛组第一名，1999年李曦再次在第六届该项比赛中获特别奖，学生童卫东、胡铮、魏昭、周启、万洁等分别在全国青少年小提琴比赛中获奖。
应中央文化部聘请历任全国青少年小提琴比赛评委。1998年应邀赴日本高崎艺术大学进行讲学、交流。2003年应邀参加在法国里昂COURCHEVEL(柯协维尔)举行的国际音乐节与伦敦、巴黎、柏林、日内瓦等国际小提琴家进行了学术交流。
编著有《中外小提琴名曲77首》、《小提琴初级教程1-5册》、《四川省小提琴等级考试1-10级曲集》(与杨宝智合编)、《青少年器乐考级指南》(与杨宝智合著)、《四川省业余小提琴二重奏考级曲集》(与李开祥、刘盾合著)。论文有《小提琴弓法的类别及训练》、《平衡--小提琴教学与演奏的基本原则》、谱写的小提琴独奏曲有《大寨花开满山红》(与黄虎威合创)，并录制了《小提琴、钢琴独奏曲》专辑等等。
Hu Weimin
Born in Nanking, prof. Hu is a violin player and educationist. Now he holds following positions: violin professor of Southwest Conservatory (SWC) ,tutor for master graduate student， chief of Sichuan Provincial Violin Education and Research Association and an executive member of National Children and Teen-ages Violin Association. He enjoys the statue of receiving special subsidy from State Council for hisspecial contribution.
He graduated from Southwest Professional Music School, and from the Violin Section of String Faculty of Shanghai Conservatory respectively in 1955 and 1958.In 1963,he won the first place in Sichuan Provincial Violin Competition .
Having been teaching for more than 40 years, he has brought about many students who have won awards in violin competitions both at home and abroad on several occasions. For instances:
Hu Kun won an award in 1980 at the 4th addition of Jean Sibelius International Violin Competition. He is the first Chinese prize-winner of international violin competition.
Ning Feng won the fist place of violin group in 1997 at the fifth addition of International Artistic Competition of Japanese High Educational Institution.
Li Xi won the special award in the sixth addition of the same competition.
Besides, his students like Tong Weidong, Hu Zhen, Wei Zhao, Zhou Qi and Wan Jie all won their awards respectively in China's National Teen-ages Competition (CNTC).
At the invitation of China's Ministry of Culture, he has undertaken the job of being member of Judge Committee of CNTC. In 1998,upon invitation, he went to Japan to give lecture to and compare notes with his colleagues in Takasaki Art Collage. In 2003, he attended French Courchevel International Music Festival and gave lecture there, and had academic exchanges with his counter-parts from London, Paris, Berlin and Geneva.

《Music Collection ,grade 1-10 for Sichuan Provincial Violin seniority Examination》 (his other co-compiler is Mr.Yang Baozhi)

Apart from that, he also wrote a number of treatises: like “Classification and Training of Bow-playing Skill”, “Balance --Basic principle both in Violin Teaching and Performance”.He also composed, with Mr.Wang Huwei, solo violin music entitled “Da Zhai Mountain is Red with Blossoming Flowers”.
He has produced his record of violin playing ,a component part of the collection of “Solo Music Performance of Violin and Piano”.
