随着互联网多媒体技术的飞速发展，网络与人们的生活已经密不可分。目前，全球华人上网人数已达上亿人。在中国传统的除夕之夜，我们欲借助和运用网络这一新兴媒体的互动优势，联手举办“2006全球华人春节网络联欢晚会”，创新文艺表现形式，反映中国人民在中国共产党领导下取得的巨大成就，传递世界各地华人的浓浓亲情，反映他们以不同形式欢渡春节的快乐、和谐、吉祥的气氛，展现中华民族融入世界民族之林，创建和谐社会，与世界人民一起共创美好明天的宏伟理想。
With rapid development of multimedia technology on Internet, the web has been more and more close to people’s life. Nowadays, more than 100 million Chinese and Chinese origins are using Internet. In virtue of mutual communication advantage of this new and developing media, we are going to hold “Spring Festival Gala Evening in 2006 for Global Chinese and Chinese Origins on Internet” on New Year’s Eve. This gala evening will bring forth new ideas on performance style, to show the great achievements people gained under the leadership of the Communist Party of China, to pass the thick feeling of Chinese and Chinese origins all over the world, to tell how they have a happy, harmony and propitious Spring Festival in different ways, and to express their great wishes of emerging into the whole world, constructing a harmony society and creating the beautiful future with other people of the world.
