As president and COO of the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences, Todd Leavitt oversees the day-to-day activities of the Academy and also supervises the ATAS staff, including the executives in charge of all the key departments. The Academy of Television Arts & Sciences is the leading membership trade association of working professionals from all disciplines of television production. It is also responsible for the administration and awarding of the Emmy.
Before working for ATAS, Leavitt was successively managing director of Tulip Media Ltd., chairman of the Alliance Television Group, executive vice president of NBC Studios and executive vice president of Reeves Entertainment Group. Among his other entertainment industry positions, Leavitt was chief operating officer of D.L. Taffner Ltd., and worldwide head of program acquisitions for CBS/Fox Video.
He is a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Kenyon College in Gambier, Ohio, and received a law degree from the New York University School of Law.
