　　故事梗概

　　格列佛在航海途中历经数次意外，漂流到不同国家。从当地的风土民情，和当地人民的相处状况中，思索出不同的人生道理。故事从格列佛的自我介绍开始，在航海过程中因为船难，而到了小人国以及大人国，进行了一场不可思议的冒险之旅，在这两个国家中，格列佛分别遇到─小人国：小人国民虽然贪婪好战，但却对遇难的格列佛尽心招待，格列佛也为小人国民击退敌军，向小人国民们报恩；另一方面，虽然小人国民对格列佛很好，但格列佛仍旧回绝了他们希望他帮忙侵略敌国的要求。巨人国：巨人国民喜欢欺负，嘲笑比自己弱小的事物，但巨人国皇后却相当善待格列佛，体现出人性善良的一面。在格列佛的奇妙旅程中，他不仅见识到了不同地方的人、事、物，同时也对自己的生活多了一份反思。

　　沙丁庞客剧团

　　成立背景

　　沙丁庞客剧团于2005年3月成立，是由从法国贾克乐寇国际戏剧学校(École internationale de théâtre Jacques Lecoq)学成归国的团长－马照琪所组成的年轻剧团。

　　“沙丁庞客”这四个字来自于法文Saltimbanque；意思是“街头卖艺者，街头艺人。小丑，江湖骗子。”

　　表演风格及艺术理念

　　沙丁庞客剧团希望藉由面具、小丑、歌舞、哑剧、对象、和体操等元素，融合街头戏剧、马戏团、与肢体剧场的方式，摸索新的表演形式，进而寻找属于当代东方的大众剧场(Popular Theatre)。

　　沙丁庞客剧团所诉求的剧场，它必须是一面镜子，能够反射出当代社会的现象与问题，同时间，又必须是精致的、贴近社会大众的、诗意的、兼具娱乐性与艺术性的。换句话说，就是“将菁英剧场分享给最广大的群众”。以所有人都能欣赏的戏剧形式，呈现出现实生活中的荒谬与诗意，讲述那些确切存在于生命中的幽微情感，并碰触与生活密切相关的社会议题。我们相信，观众是剧场存在的最重要因素，贴近生活的戏剧才能让观众感动！这是沙丁庞客剧团成立的宗旨，也是沙丁庞客剧团努力的目标。

　　同时，沙丁庞客剧团认为演员亦是剧场的重要元素，所以致力于探索演员的表演直地与极限，期待以集体发展的方式，做出以演员为主体的剧场表演。

　　Synopsis

　　The production isbased on an English classic—Gulliver’sTravels by Jonathan Swift.  Thestory’s narrator, Doctor Lemuel Gulliver, enjoys traveling and he talks abouthis voyages on ships to remote nations of Lilliput and Brobdingnag. During hisfirst voyage, Gulliver is washed ashore after a shipwreck and finds himself aprisoner of a race of tiny people, who are inhabitants of the island countrycalled Lilliput.  Following Gulliver’sobservations on the Court of Lilliput, he finds out though the citizens showhim great hospitality, the Lilliputians are greedy and eager to fight againsttheir neighbours, the Blefuscudians. He displeases the King and the Court byrefusing to help them invade the Blefuscudians, and be charged with treason. Withthe assistance of a kind friend, Gulliver escapes from the country and berescued by a passing ship。

　　When the ship issteered off course by storms and forced to go in to land for fresh water,Gulliver is abandoned by his companions and found by a giant farmer. He bringsGulliver home and his daughter cares for Gulliver. The farmer treats him as acuriosity and exhibits him for money. The fame spreads out and the Queen ofBrobdingnag wants to see the show. She likes Gulliver and he is then bought byher and kept as a favourite at court. 

　　During the conversation with the King about the state of where Gullivercomes from, the King has strong opinions about the usage of weapons such asguns and cannons. One day, on a trip to the seaside, Gulliver is seized by agiant bird which drops him into the sea where he is picked up by some sailorsand finally returns to England。

　　Theatre de la Sardine

　　Theatre de la Sardine was founded in2005 by Director Chao-Chi Ma who trained at École internationale de théâtreJacques Lecoq in Paris.The company's name comes from the French word‘Saltimbanque’, which means street performer, clown and acrobat。

　　Drawing onEastern Popular Theatre, Theatre de la Sardine uses mask, clowning, mime, objects andgymnastics to present new forms on stage, combining street performance, circusand physical theatre. They use their theatre as a mirror to reflect socialissues and dispute, whilst creating poetic, accessible, entertainingproductions for a wide audience.  Theirwork reveals the extraordinary in the ordinary, reflecting the ridiculouspoetry found in every day life.
