　　故事梗概

　　红雪是一个关于爱，和平和抚平伤痕的故事。父母一辈喜爱的昆曲化为恶梦不断在加籍华裔的伊莎贝尔脑中出现，促使她去找寻她祖父母被遗忘的故事。在她前往南京的路上，认识了山本和弘，一个也和这段历史有关的人。他们的爱情迫使祖孙三代正视南京大屠杀所引发，令当年众多参予者无论如何否定亦难以掩藏的罪疚感、耻辱和痛苦。当他们的生命交错，他们要致力和家人排解过去的创伤。这个沉默的历史都在伊莎贝尔找寻她祖母的过去秘密和她自己人生困惑的过程中被打破。

　　红雪合作社是由剧作家和制作人曹枫，剧作家瑞克诺尔斯和音乐剧作家凯西诺萨迪在2009年共同组建，以支持曹枫的新剧《红雪》的开创，发展，制作和宣传。合作社的创建是为了能具化未来制作的行政和艺术团队，在当代戏剧将文字，音乐和动作编织在一起的构架中用中西合璧的方式来讲述这个特殊的故事。

　　红雪合作社是一个在艺术形式和文化上非常多样化的艺术家团队，通过他们的共同合作，以全新和变革性的创造，来丰富加拿大和国际舞台。红雪的展望是

　　1.用多样的戏剧形式，结合东西方文化的故事讲述，做到发人深省而有趣，跨界并挑战规范，来创造诗意和抒情的戏剧。

　　2.创作引人入胜和与社会息息相关的戏剧，将个人故事，历史或是神话转变为一个折射出普遍主题的故事。

　　3.创造结合动作和现场音乐演奏的戏剧，同时承继传统的剧情和故事陈述的戏剧形式。

　　4.探讨不同的故事陈述作为一种表达的平台，在国际和当地的社区之间建筑桥梁和打开对话，并宣扬艺术带来变革的理念。

　　5.创造能够提高对不同文化和历史的认识度的戏剧。

　　6.透过艺术家的教育性工作坊延展到学生和老师，给予他们用戏剧发声和讲故事的力量。

　　Synopsis

　　A young Chinese Canadian woman’s recurring nightmare of hergrandparents’ favorite Chinese opera drives her to search for their silencedstory. On her journey she falls in love with a Japanese Canadian man who isconnected to the same forgotten history. Their love unleashes three generationsof guilt, shame and pain perpetuated by a massacre still denied by theperpetrators today. When their lives collide they struggle to reconcile thepast with the present - for themselves and their family, shaken from theirlifelong silence by Isabel’s pilgrimage to uncover the secrets of hergrandmother’s story ... and her own. This story is about love, peace andhealing。

　　In 2009, the Red Snow Collective was formed by Diana Tso(playwright/producer)， Ric Knowles (dramaturge) and Cathy Nosaty (musicdramaturge)， to support the development, creation, production and promotion ofDiana Tso’s new play Red Snow. The collective was formed to embody theadministrative and artistic team for future productions that combine Eastern andWestern storytelling in the framework of modern theatre weaving text, music andmovement。

　　Red Snow Collective is a team of artists of diversity bothin art forms and cultures, working together to bring new and transformativecreations that enrich the Canadian and international stages. Our vision is:

　　1.To create theatre that is poetic and lyrical, using a mosaicof theatrical forms from eastern and western cultures’ storytelling that isprovoking and engaging, crosses borders and challenges the norm。

　　2.To create compelling and socially relevant theatre thattransforms a personal story or history or mythology into one that reflects ouruniversal stories。

　　3.To create theatre that incorporates movement and livemusicians, following traditional theatre forms of drama and storytelling。

　　4.To explore ways of storytelling as a platform of expressionto build bridges and open dialogues between communities both locally andinternationally and advocating art for change。

　　5.To create theatre that brings awareness of other culturesand histories。

　　6.To outreach to students and teachers through artists ineducation workshops on empowering their voices andstories through theatre。
