Kenichiro Usui is the director of news division, Kyushu Asahi Broadcasting Co., Ltd. (KBC).
Usui entered KBC in April 1988. He started his career as a city news correspondent.
He has produced around 10 documentaries, one of which depicts the life of Korean comfort women who were obliged to be under Japanese soldier in World War II. Other works mainly concerns illegal investigations by local Japanese police, problems of illegal foreign immigrant workers in Japan and so on.
He has worked as a foreign correspondent (for TV ASAHI News Network) based in Berlin Germany from January 1998 to September 2001. At this time he reported many global affairs, including bombs against Yugoslavia by NATO in March 1999, civil revolution in Yugoslavia in October 2000, introduction of EURO currency, expansion of EU (European Union).
