1956年出生于中国青岛。中央音乐学院大提琴副教授，现任中央音乐学院大提琴教研室主任，管弦系副主任，中央音乐学院古典室内乐团团长，中央音乐学院青年交响乐团常务团长，中国大提琴协会会长。
俞明青自幼学习大提琴，1973年考入中央音乐学院，1976年以优异成绩毕业并留校任教。
1980年赴比利时蒙斯皇家音乐学院学习。1982年获比利时皇家音乐学院大提琴一等文凭，同时荣获以比利时国王陛下名誉颁发的大提琴最高等文凭及室内乐最高等毕业文凭。在比利时学习期间曾以独奏家的身份与皇家青年交响乐团合作，由皇家青年交响乐团协奏院院长贝利指挥，在比利时五大城市演出，受到比利时音乐评论界及音乐爱好者的极好评价。
1983年回国继续在中央音乐学院任教至今。曾多次举行独奏音乐会及重奏音乐会，同时多次代表国家率中央音乐学院室内乐团及大提琴学生参加国际比赛，并多次率团赴欧洲各国及美国进行演出和讲学。
在已举办的三届中国大提琴比赛中，分别荣获第一名的三位选手均为俞明青教授的学生。
Yu Ming qing
Born in China’s Qingdao in 1956, prof. Yu is an associate professor of cello in Beijing Central Conservatory (BCC). Now he holds concurrently following posts: vice chief of String Faculty, chief of Cello Teaching and Research Office, chief of Classic Chamber Music Orchestra, and executive chief of Youth Philharmonic Orchestra. Besides, he is the chairman of China’s Cello Association.
He started to learn cello playing since childhood, entered BCC in 1973, and graduated with excellent marks and has become a teacher since 1976.
In 1980, he went to Belgium Mons Royal Conservatory (BRC) for further study. Two years later, BRC conferred him with diploma of the first class of cello player and the highest diploma of graduation of chamber music in the name of his Majesty Belgium King. During his study tour at that period, he had cooperation with Royal Youth Philharmonic Orchestra in the capacity of solo performing musician. He toured and gave performances in five cites of Belgium, with chief of Concerto Academy of BRC being as his conductor. His stage performance was highly commented by the circle of Belgium music commentator and music lover.
After his return to China in 1983, he has continued his teaching in BCC till now. He, on several occasions, on behalf of China, led the Chamber Music Orchestra of his school and the Cello student competitors to attend international competition in foreign countries. Besides, he went several times to European countries and America to give performances and lectures.
His three students got the best awards in all three additions of cello competition, which have been organized so for in China.
